We have been looking forward to a couple of days of R and R at Grand Lake. It feels good to be here. At 8396 feet above sea level (2550 m) we are feeling the effects of altitude. We are all knocking back the pain killers and drinking lots of water to counteract the altitude. We're constantly on the lookout for restrooms!!The lake is the largest in Colorado and is still frozen, though starting to thaw. The surrounding mountains are covered in snow, a very beautiful and peaceful place.
